Burchiello: boat trips along the Riviera

The Riviera del Brenta is famous all over the world for navigation by boat and motor ship from Padua to the Venetian Villas. Once the boats were called Burchielli and the ancient route of 1700 originated from Padua, and overcoming five locks and ten swing bridges, which allow you to descend a water level of about 10 meters, ending in Venice, in Piazza San Marco.

As in the past, even today Il Burchiello, which has become a grand tourism scheduled service, retraces the Naviglio del Brenta from Padua to Venice and vice versa. Heir to ancient traditions, he plows the waters of the Brenta with a slow pace, while the guides on board illustrate the history, culture and art witnessed by the Ville del Brenta. The mini-cruises are carried out starting from Venice or Padua and stopping in the most beautiful and famous villas linked to illustrious names such as Palladio and Tiepolo for a guided tour of the interiors.

Other boats owned by various shipping companies today also plow the waters of the Brenta Canal, along the streets of the ancient 18th century burchielli, stopping in the main villas. The names of the individual boats vary in relation to the shipping companies; some are modern, in metal, others are traditional and romantic wooden boats.
